Operations, support and development of the advanced ICT research infrastructure go hand in hand, and require a long-term vision and multidisciplinary collaboration. This requires critical mass and unique expertise and experience, and close collaboration with users.

Synergy among computing, networking, visualization, data storage and e-Science support is therefore secured in the SARA organization. There are short lines among the various competence groups.

Advanced services require highly qualified personnel. At SARA, system experts and application experts work closely together to provide integrated services and a one-stop shop to the users. Many SARA employees have a background and a degree in scientific research.
