Dr. Jeff Templon
NIKHEF
Dr. Jeff Templon is the leader of the Physics Data Processing project
at NIKHEF (The Dutch National Institute for Nuclear and High-Energy
Physics). He received his PhD in experimental nuclear physics in 1993
from Indiana University, based on research he carried out with the proton
beams of the Indiana University Cyclotron Facility. Thereafter, working
first at NIKHEF (postdoc), then MIT (postdoc), and the University of
Georgia (assistant professor of physics), Jeff carried out research
with the electron beams of various laboratories across the US and Europe.
Jeff was almost always involved in computing for the various experiments
in which he participated; he made it official in 2001 when coming to
NIKHEF to work on Grids. He participates in many different Grid communities,
among them serving as official high-energy physics representatives to
the EDG and EGEE architecture teams, leading the Dutch Virtual Lab for
e-Science "Data Intensive Sciences" subprogram, spending part
of his time as one of the NIKHEF grid operations team members, and continually
testing new grid software releases.
