SURFnet expertise seminar "Datacenter of the Future?"

On Monday June 22, SURFnet organized the expert seminar "Datacenter of the Future?". At this seminar, SARA has given a lecture on the need and possibilities for a balance between regional and central data centers.

The seminar was for managers and directors of computer centers and aimed to inform them about the new possibilities for data centers in respect to continuity, sourcing and green.

The SARA lecture focused on the role of sustainability on continuity and the contribution of virtualization, and of course the use of modern network concepts in this respect. This is essential for IT in education, administrative systems and for the support of scientific research. In this respect SARA emphasizes the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
