SARA transfers market-oriented activities to Vancis BV

In 2009, SARA will transfer all market-oriented activities to the new subsidiary Vancis BV. This migration does not affect the quality of the services since Vancis will be responsible for the operation of the current datacenters of SARA in Amsterdam and Almere. Moreover, SARA is 100% shareholder of the new company.

As a market-oriented company Vancis will position itself more competitively in the market. The objective is that a growing number of parties will have access to the advanced products and services developed at SARA.

In the course of 2009, all market-oriented IT services of SARA will gradually be moved to Vancis BV. The migration of the co-location services has already begun. Currently, the hosting services and the (on-demand) Virtual Server services and the (on-demand) services in the field of storage and disaster recovery will be transferred to Vancis. Vancis has a leading position in services based on the principles of cloud computing, such as shared virtual server hosting. Finally, Wide Area networks and connectivity services will be migrated to Vancis.

SARA customers making use of the market-oriented services will be contacted by their account manager in due course. Some customers have already been informed about the new situation and have received a Vancis contract.
