GPU cluster installed at SARA

More and more people are using the hardware available in modern graphic cards to speed up their computations. Therefore, SARA, NCF and UvA have decided to invest in a cluster consisting of 8 nodes, each equipped with two Nvidia professional graphic cards, thereby creating a total peak performance of about 16 Teraflop/sec.

Nvidia's programming environment (CUDA) is installed to facilitate the development of programs using the GPU's.

The main purpose of the cluster is that the users get experience with GPU programming to see if their programs can benefit from using one or more GPU's.
