computing
Since 1997 SARA provides an advanced network environment that excels
in system management convenience and flexibility.
With the thin-client concept (served-based computing) that SARA has
developed, the end user has the same functionality as when using a “normal”
PC, while the total cost of ownership are considerably lower.
SARA’s thin-client concept is the answer to the great need for
manageable network environments.
Advantages
The implementation of the thin-client concept has many advantages:
- reduction of system management
- low total cost of ownership
- no system management at the workplace
- remote management by SARA
- low write-down on the equipment
- low sensitivity for failures, viruses, and burglary
Overview of SARA’s projects
Recent years SARA has implemented the thin-client concept at:
- 43 primary schools in Amsterdam (CIAO-project)
- 53 primary schools in Almere (e-BOAT-project)
Applications
SARA’s thin-client concept can be applied at all kinds of workplaces,
such as hospitals, libraries, travel agencies, museums, call centers,
and flexible work environments.
SARA provides:
- installation and configuration of the equipment
- integration with a Windows or Linux server for Windows-based applications
- making backups of files
- helpdesk and 24 hours system management
